Les Lavandes
A 5-minute walk takes you to the cool shade of the plane trees in village square of Monieux. Sitting next to a beautiful fountain, hardly any traffic, this is the Provence at its best. Delicious peach or apple pie with your coffee…

Arôma Plantes
This is the café of one of the most important distilleries in the surroundings. Since 1978 they have been distilling organic essential oils from lavender and other aromatic plants. These are mainly used in their aromatherapy and own production of cosmetic products. Here they also organically cultivate spelled, chickpeas and lentils. The smells are wonderful and the building is located in the middle of the lavender fields. After a tour of the distillery you can enjoy a lavender tea or artisanal beer. Sit in the shade of a beautiful old chestnut tree.
ps. Your hostess works here during the summer season.

La Promenade de Justin
This is best best terrace to be in the town of Sault. Here you have a beautiful view on the valley with its lavender fields and the top of Mont Ventoux. You see a lot of cyclists there. I recommend to drink a pastis there. Regular petanque competitions are held in the village square next to the café.

‘Chez Martine’
Beware, only open during the weekends and holidays… but by far the nicest terrace in the area. Brantes in itself is worthwhile to visit, but the icing on the cake is the terrace under the red parasols. Joop and Martine bought a derelict castle 30 years ago, and look what they turned it into. Joop is a ceramicist, and you will notice it everywhere. Especially the view of the north side of Mont Ventoux and the valley of the Toulerenc are astonishing.
